In 2022, Play It Forward’s founding Artistic Director, Jonathon Welch, received a life-changing diagnosis: prostate cancer. Fortunately, a routine PSA test caught the disease early, allowing for successful treatment.
This experience inspired Jonathon to create SING FOR A CURE, a unique initiative that combines the power of music with the fight against prostate cancer.
RAISING AWARENESS AND VITAL FUNDS
SING FOR A CURE aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection for prostate cancer. This disease affects a staggering number of Australian men, and early testing can significantly improve outcomes. Through music and community engagement, SING FOR A CURE seeks to educate men of all ages about prostate cancer and the importance of regular checkups.
THE POWER OF MUSIC FOR A CAUSE
SING FOR A CURE harnesses the unifying power of music to bring people together for a worthy cause. By partnering with choirs and talented singers, the initiative creates a platform for raising both awareness and funds. The funds directly benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA), supporting their critical research and support programs.
